MY BIO / EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS / STUDIES: After completing my A Levels in my home town, I went on to study at the Nottingham Trent University in Nottingham, UK. Here I obtained my Law LLB degree and what an amazing experience it was – learning about the eggshell skull rule in Tort Law or my favourite, learning about Public law and the judiciary.
VOLUNTEERING IN UK IMMIGRATION (IAS UK LTD): After leaving University I quickly realised the job market for graduates was extremely competitive – without any real working skills, it was very difficult to even get a recruiter to look at my CV. Ultimately I decided to volunteer full time at a local UK immigration practice in my home town. Possibly the best choice I ever made; I learnt valuable skills and started a passionate career in immigration.
MY FIRST JOB IN LONDON (BERRY APPLEMAN AND LEIDEN LLP): After some time I decided to apply for paid jobs and my dream was always to move to London. Again another exciting step in my life – my first job in central Mayfair, working for a Global Corporate immigration practice. BAL was my first real eye opener to how difficult immigration can be. Looking after multiple Global clients in the area of coordination and Consular applications.
MOVING BACK INTO UK IMMIGRATION (ERNST AND YOUNG LLP): Immigration is such a radically changing environment and I felt it was time for me to try something new and go into an area of immigration I had no experience – corporate UK immigration. Being a big four, EY presented a career changing opportunity. A brand new client and Tier 2 responsibility – another fantastic challenge.
IT WAS TIME FOR A NEW CHALLENGE (PRICEWATERHOUSE COOPERS LLP): Definitely the role in which I grew the most. A promotion and then another the year after. PwC was a major part of my career development – assisting with the consular applications / travel compliance of the UK internal population and then in my final year, the US internal population. Learning the principles of design and how systems work; it was so exciting.
OPENING GLOBAL VISAS LTD AND GLOBAL VISAS (INT) LLC: And here we are today!! Almost 2 years of questioning every detail across 2 websites, 3 global offices and over 2000 web pages. A full service consular, passport and legalisation provider for the regions of London and New York.

JOB TITLE:
CFO / DIRECTOR

MY TOP 5 SKILLS (AS PER MY PICTURE):

Working with numbers
Analysis of data
Troubleshooting complex queries
Prioritising workloads
Organised / planning projects

MY BIO / EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS / STUDIES: Upon completing my GNVQ in Business and Finance in my home town of Derby, I attended Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester UK. This was a great experience for me as I developed key life skills and grew as an adult. My course was quite challenging because it incorporated element of CIMA (Charted Institute of Management Accounts). The course affirmed my skill and enjoyment of working with numbers.
MY FIRST ROLE IN ACCOUNTING / CREDIT CONTROL: After completing University I held some smaller roles in my home town, these involved temporary customer service roles. My first position in my field of expertise was as a Finance Assistant in Litigation in the city of York UK (employed by Norwich Union – now Aviva Plc) – primarily assisting credit control and clawback matters. The role lasted one year but was vital in my career development.
A NEW MOVE BACK TO MY HOME CITY IN BUSINESS ACCOUNTS: A position I have now held for almost 18 years in my home town of Derby. Working for a retail EPOS firm called Barron McCann Ltd as the Company Accountant. My role is to compile the company group management accounts – this involves analysis of the group accounts, financial decision making based on the later and making appropriate financial recommendations to the Director. I also involved in the company Audit and business assurance, ensuring the long term viability of the business through validation and process substantiation. Finally given I have carried out this role for a long time, the skills I have learnt along the way are invaluable and have prepared me for any business account resolution.

We look forward to working with you and meeting all your expectations.

Global Immigration Leader, Big 4

“Manny. You have really gone the extra mile in supporting the US Business Visitor Service. You have demonstrated real commitment and energy, working a late shift night while we try and find others to fill the position. I know that the other night you stayed until 4am. You are always so positive and your cheerful disposition and attention to detail has resulted in excellent client feedback. On Monday the key client came to London and she was effusive about the service. This is largely due the cover you provide.”

Internal stakeholder, Big 4

“Manny is a big reason why the move from (external provider) to the UK firm’s passport and visa provision has been so smooth. He’s an extremely likeable honest hard working guy who takes his role very seriously. We’re very fortunate to have him leading our dedicated team”

External client, Private practice

“Most of my contact was with Manpreet Singh Johal. He did the best job someone could imagine. Extraordinary service from his side.”

Team member, Big 4

“Working on two priority accounts is naturally pressurised especially where he has also been responsible for billing on both accounts; yet Manny delivers every time and this I believe is an exceptional quality.”
