IMPORTANT / IN-PERSON APPLICATION

VISA CATEGORY INFORMATION

The eligible person of this category of visa are:

– An Expert/adviser/employee/individual who appointed in a government/semi-government/autonomous bodies/projects and equivalent organization in Bangladesh
– An Individual who employed in local/foreign government/semi-government/liaison/industrial/commercial organization or other equivalent organizations in Bangladesh
– Individuals appointed under local/foreign government/semi-government contractor ship and in equivalent organization in Bangladesh
– An Individual who intend to do honorary work (without salary) with Registered NGOs in Bangladesh.

VISA VALIDITY

– 3 months, single entry
– 3 months, double entry
– 3 months, multiple entry

Duration of stay is a maximum 90 days on each visit. EXTENSION UP TO THREE (3) YEARS CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF IMMIGRATION AND PASSPORT (DIP) IN BANGLADESH.

All visa issuance is subject to consular discretion.

Please note that the High Commission of Bangladesh only accepts visa applications via an appointment system. YOU MUST ATTEND THE APPOINTMENT IN-PERSON YOURSELF TO FILE THE APPLICATION.

CONSULAR FEES PAYMENT

You must also make payment of the consular fees yourself (see processing times section below for full pricing structure).

Payment may only be made at the High Commission of Bangladesh via Debit/Credit card, Postal order or Bank draft (both addressed to Bangladesh High Commission, London).

RETURN DELIVERY

The High Commission of Bangladesh does seem to offer a return mail service for your endorsed passport and supporting documentation. Should you wish to explore this option, we would advise to take extra self addressed written prepaid envelope, to your appointment.

IT IS HOWEVER ADVISABLE WHERE POSSIBLE, GIVEN THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THE DOCUMENTS AND TO AVOID ANY MAIL BEING LOST, TO ALWAYS COLLECT ALL ENDORSED PASSPORTS.

PASSPORT

Original passport. This must:

be valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date
have at least two blank visa pages

PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPHS

Two original recent 45mm x 35mm colour photographs. These must:

be taken within the last month
be taken against a plain light background and printed on photographic paper
show full frontal face, have a neutral expression and your mouth closed
have eyes open and free from reflection or glare from glasses
not have hair in front of face or have a head covering (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons)

INVITATION LETTER (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

Clear colour copy of signed and completed invite letter from your inviting company in Bangladesh requesting a Bangladeshi Employment Visa for the applicant.

Please see template attached: Bangladesh – Invite letter (EMPLOYMENT). Please do amend / provide as much detail as possible. Alternatively, the letter must include the following information:

Addressed to the “High Commission of Bangladesh in London”
Letter needs to be on inviting company headed paper and dated within the last month
Letter need to be signed by authorised signatory of the inviting company
Purpose of visit – please provide as much detail as possible
Applicant’s name and nationality
Passport number and DOB
Start & Expiry date of the passport
Dates of travel to Bangladesh
Validity of visa applied for
A guarantee to meet maintenance expenses (if applicable)
Contain the stamp of the inviting company (if applicable)
Medical insurance undertaking (if applicable)

IF THE MOVE IS A INTRA-COMPANY TRANSFER, A SIMILAR LETTER SHOULD ALSO BE PROVIDED BY THE SENDING UK COMPANY.

CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT / APPOINTMENT LETTERS

Clear colour copy of appointment letter and signed contract papers, with full terms and conditions including salary details.

APPROVAL LETTER FROM MINISTRY IN BANGLADESH

Clear colour copy of approval letter from relevant ministry in Bangladesh or Board of Investment (BOI) or Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA).

VISA CHECKLIST

Signed, dated and fully completed original Bangladesh visa checklist. Please see attached: Bangladesh – Visa Checklist.

AUTHORISATION LETTER

Signed, dated and fully completed original original authorisation letter, allowing Global Visas to submit and collect your application.

PROOF OF UK RESIDENCE (IMMIGRATION)

Valid proof of UK residence. This must be presented as your valid original UK residency visa in your passport / in the form of a valid original UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card.

This must be valid for at least three months beyond your requested visa validity.

PROCESSING TIMES / FEES

As a reminder, Consular fees will not be charged and payment must be made by the applicant directly to the Embassy / Consulate.

Do also be aware that consular fees are non-refundable once the application has been submitted; including if the application is then rejected or if you are issued a different visa validity to that requested.

APPLICATION PREPARATION

Be proactive. Review the whole application process and makes notes on anything you require clarity on. By addressing this with your visa agent will make the process easier and more efficient.

DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

Be mindful that each document has its own requirements (i.e. passport validity / photo sizes / form signing / originals / information required for support letters etc). It is important that each requirement is adhered to.

DATA ACCURACY

Personal information must be accurate and consistent across all your documentation. Passport information, employment details, travel dates, postal addresses, points of contact etc. You must paint a consistent and accurate picture of your trip.

APPLICATION TIMESCALE

Always remember timescales. Some documents may take longer to obtain (i.e. documents from abroad / from official govt bodies / may require official certification or legalisation). Taking this into consideration along with processing times is very important.

PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Taking a practical approach to immigration is very important. Being considerate of consular closures, travel plans, processing times, delivery timeframes, receiving original supporting documents etc. You must be mindful and plan for such considerations.
