IMPORTANT / IN-PERSON APPLICATION

VISA CATEGORY INFORMATION

This visa is available for foreigners who are planning to settle permanently in Argentina and are also parents, spouses or children of an Argentine national. It is also intended for applicants who are parents, spouses or children under 18 (or over 18 years old with disabilities) of a permanent resident in Argentina.

VISA VALIDITY

Varied validity. All visa issuance is subject to consular discretion.

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENT (IN-PERSON)

Please note that the Consulate General of Argentina in London only accepts visa applications via an appointment system. YOU MUST ATTEND THE APPOINTMENT IN-PERSON YOURSELF TO FILE THE APPLICATION.

Visa inquiries and appointments must be requested and scheduled ONLY by the following email address: visasclond@mrecic.gov.ar. Please include your full name, nationality, dates of travel and purpose of the trip. All inquiries must be submitted in writing by email.

CONSULAR FEES PAYMENT

The fee varies depending on the dollar rate and the type of visa – IT WILL BE INFORMED TO YOU ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT. All consular fees must be paid via debit card or cash to the corresponding bank. Cash is not accepted at the Consulate.

Furthermore, the expedited visa processing time of 2 business days requires the payment of an additional fee that will be added to the corresponding Consular fees. Please do take this into consideration, if applicable.

RETURN DELIVERY

The Consulate General of Argentina in London does offer a return mail service.

Passports with the stamped visas can be picked up in person or by someone else with corresponding authorisation, or using a prepaid, self-addressed returned envelope. You are advised to keep a record of your special delivery services so you can track down your documents. The Consulate shall not be responsible for delays or loss of documents incurred by the Post Office or the carrier once the documentation was delivered or sent by the Consulate.

IT IS HOWEVER ADVISABLE WHERE POSSIBLE, GIVEN THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THE DOCUMENTS AND TO AVOID ANY MAIL BEING LOST, TO ALWAYS COLLECT ALL ENDORSED PASSPORTS.

Only once your documents have been reviewed, must you attend your appointment at the scheduled date and time with all originals, to submit your application IN-PERSON to the relevant Consulate / Embassy.

PASSPORT

Original passport. This must:

be valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date
have at least two blank visa pages

PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPHS

Two original recent 45mm x 35mm colour photographs. These must:

be taken within the last month
be taken against a plain light background and printed on photographic paper
show full frontal face, have a neutral expression and your mouth closed
have eyes open and free from reflection or glare from glasses
not have hair in front of face or have a head covering (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons)

This must be:

hand-written with black ink
be signed the day of the appointment

BIRTH / MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE

Proof of relationship with the Argentine national.

If applying as a child of an Argentine citizen: Original birth certificate. It must detail the parent’s names.

If applying as a spouse of an Argentine citizen: Original marriage certificate.

THE DOCUMENT MUST ALSO BE LEGALISED WITH APOSTILLE OF THE HAGUE (HTTPS://CLOND.CANCILLERIA.GOB.AR/EN/NODE/2410) AND TRANSLATED INTO SPANISH BY AN OFFICIAL TRANSLATOR FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING ASSOCIATIONS: HTTPS://CLOND.CANCILLERIA.GOB.AR/EN/NODE/2419.

PROOF OF HOST ID

Clear colour copy of Argentine ID (DNI) of the Argentine relative and proof of address (if Argentina is their place of residence).

PROOF OF PAYMENT OF TASA DE MIGRACIONES

Payment of Tasa de Migraciones.

This can be completed at the time of submitting your application to the Consulate General of Argentina in London.

CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE(S)

Original criminal record certificate issued by the relevant authorities of the country or countries where the applicant has resided for at least one year during the last three (3) years.

EACH CERTIFICATE MUST ALSO BE LEGALISED WITH APOSTILLE OF THE HAGUE (HTTPS://CLOND.CANCILLERIA.GOB.AR/EN/NODE/2410) AND TRANSLATED INTO SPANISH BY AN OFFICIAL TRANSLATOR FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING ASSOCIATIONS: HTTPS://CLOND.CANCILLERIA.GOB.AR/EN/NODE/2419.

AFFIDAVIT OF INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL RECORDS

Affidavit of international criminal records (to be signed in front of the Consul).

Please request this from your visa officer upon submission of the application.

PROOF OF UK RESIDENCE (IMMIGRATION)

Valid proof of UK residence. This must be presented as your valid original UK residency visa in your passport / in the form of a valid original UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card.

This must be valid for at least three months beyond your requested visa validity.

ARGENTINE ID (DNI) REQUEST

Once in Argentina, the applicant must initiate proceedings for obtaining the Argentine ID (DNI) within 60 days of entry.

As a reminder, Consular fees will not be charged and payment must be made by the applicant directly to the Embassy / Consulate. Again, all Argentina visa fees vary depending on the dollar rate and the type of visa. It will be informed to you on the day of your appointment.

Do also be aware that consular fees are non-refundable once the application has been submitted; including if the application is then rejected or if you are issued a different visa validity to that requested.

APPLICATION PREPARATION

Be proactive. Review the whole application process and makes notes on anything you require clarity on. By addressing this with your visa agent will make the process easier and more efficient.

DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

Be mindful that each document has its own requirements (i.e. passport validity / photo sizes / form signing / originals / information required for support letters etc). It is important that each requirement is adhered to.

DATA ACCURACY

Personal information must be accurate and consistent across all your documentation. Passport information, employment details, travel dates, postal addresses, points of contact etc. You must paint a consistent and accurate picture of your trip.

APPLICATION TIMESCALE

Always remember timescales. Some documents may take longer to obtain (i.e. documents from abroad / from official govt bodies / may require official certification or legalisation). Taking this into consideration along with processing times is very important.

PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Taking a practical approach to immigration is very important. Being considerate of consular closures, travel plans, processing times, delivery timeframes, receiving original supporting documents etc. You must be mindful and plan for such considerations.
