IMPORTANT (E-VISA)

VISA CATEGORY INFORMATION

The Uganda East Africa Tourist E-Visa permits entry into and travel within Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.

Your first destination on the visa MUST be Uganda.

VISA VALIDITY

3 months, multiple entry. All visa issuance is subject to consular discretion.

E-VISA ISSUANCE

The Ugandan E-Visa is issued electronically, therefore you will not receive a vignette / visa sticker endorsement in your passport. Once approved, Global Visas will email you a copy of the E-Visa confirmation with all final instructions.

IMPORTANT: The Uganda Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control reserves the right to request additional documentation in support of an application, and can amend / increase E-Visa fees without prior notice. PASSPORT

Clear colour copy of your passport (the biodata page / photo page only). This must:

be valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date
have at least one blank visa page

PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPHS

Clear colour copy of a recent 45mm x 35mm photograph. This must:

be taken within the last month
be taken against a plain light background and printed on photographic paper
show full frontal face, have a neutral expression and your mouth closed
have eyes open and free from reflection or glare from glasses
not have hair in front of face or have a head covering (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons)

GLOBAL VISAS E-VISA QUESTIONNAIRE

Signed, dated and fully completed Global Visas E-Visa questionnaire. Please see attached: Uganda – E-Visa questionnaire (TOURIST – EAST AFRICA).

DETAILED TRAVEL PLAN

Clear colour copy of a detailed travel plan outlining your full information as per your passport and the following:

Dates of entry and departure to all three countries (as applicable) / a full round trip itinerary (see below)
Full information of places and accommodation / addresses of stay in each country
A clear timeline / travel plan for each day of stay in each country including attractions / locations to be visited

TRAVEL ITINERARY

Clear colour copy of valid flight booking / travel itinerary. This must show a confirmed round-trip or onward travel.

If the latter, the traveller must also provide all documentation / immigration approvals (if applicable) for the onward travel.

PROOF OF ACCOMMODATION

Clear colour copy of confirmed accommodation (hotel, apartment, hostel, etc) booking mentioning applicant’s name, travel dates and accommodation address details in Uganda / of first stay.

YELLOW FEVER CERTIFICATE

Clear colour copy of your valid Yellow Fever Certificate.

PROOF OF UK RESIDENCE (IMMIGRATION)

Valid proof of UK residence. This must be presented as your valid UK residency visa in your passport / in the form of a valid UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card. A clear colour copy is acceptable – you must provide a copy of the front and back of your UK BRP card, if applicable.

This must be valid for at least three months beyond your requested visa validity.

All E-Visa fees however are non-refundable once the application has been submitted; including if the application is then rejected or if you are issued a different visa validity to that requested.

Please also be aware that Uganda E-Visa fees are set in USD, therefore based on the exchange rate at the time of making the payment, the below E-Visa fees can vary.

APPLICATION PREPARATION

Be proactive. Review the whole application process and makes notes on anything you require clarity on. By addressing this with your visa agent will make the process easier and more efficient.

DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

Be mindful that each document has its own requirements (i.e. passport validity / photo sizes / form signing / originals / information required for support letters etc). It is important that each requirement is adhered to.

DATA ACCURACY

Personal information must be accurate and consistent across all your documentation. Passport information, employment details, travel dates, postal addresses, points of contact etc. You must paint a consistent and accurate picture of your trip.

APPLICATION TIMESCALE

Always remember timescales. Some documents may take longer to obtain (i.e. documents from abroad / from official govt bodies / may require official certification or legalisation). Taking this into consideration along with processing times is very important.

PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Taking a practical approach to immigration is very important. Being considerate of consular closures, travel plans, processing times, delivery timeframes, receiving original supporting documents etc. You must be mindful and plan for such considerations.
